Starting soon

This is an experiment. It might work, it might not, but I'm going to give it a bash. For the month of June I intend to write and submit a short short story every single day, hence 30 in 30 days. There are a number of reasons for trying this, the first being to prove that I can - I now earn a part of my living form writing and want to know if it possible to create a small income stream from this in addition to the longer work I have on the go. I also realise that after years of writing almost exclusively with Paul Lewis, I need to get my name out there a little more. For a long time I have also wanted to write a sequence of short stories/vignettes in the style of Lord Dunsany which would provide entertainments in their own right, but together will hopefully create a world which would interest a small publisher sufficiently to want to publish them together.

I'll be using this blog to keep a record of my progress on the writing front along with acceptances rejections and a running total of what I earn from the stories, though I have no intention of posting the fiction here. I have no intention of going out in search of readers for this blog, but if anyone calls by then welcome.

I'm not setting my sights very high for this as far as earnings are concerned, but am looking to earn at last $300 in total and will only submit to paying markets. The blog will continue until the end of July purely to track the pregress of the stories but will not cover any fiction written after the 30 days are up.
